The Brooklyn Hospital Center is looking for a dynamic, energetic data center manager.

What you’ll be doing:

The Senior Network & Data Center Operations Manager provides supervision, engineering, operational support and problem resolution for systems or an environment required to support a large, complex institutional IT system, a segment of that system or a process. Assist Managers and Directors in completing projects and maintaining environments.

Specifically,

  • Performs server administration in Microsoft (MS) Windows environments, including MS Exchange 2013, MS Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016 Linux and UNIX, NetApp data storage, Active Directory and GPO management and design, Virtualization (VMware), and AWS\Azure cloud services.
  • Knowledge with managing Data Center space & power utilization including understanding Data Center HVAC, Power Distribution, Data Center UPS, Cable Plant Layout, Environmental monitoring systems
  • Experience positioning and designing Cisco Datacenter technologies (Unified Fabric, Nexus, UCS)
  • Experience positioning and selling Cisco Collaboration and UC technologies
  • Strong Layer 3 and 2 knowledge with knowledge of IP protocols, firewalls, Load balancers, routers, switches, and IDS/IPS
  • Experience positioning and designing L2/L3 core and access layer infrastructure
  • Knowledge of SAN switching, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and FCoE
  • Experience positioning and designing Network security (Firewall, VPN, IPS/IDS)
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships at multiple levels within the company, including with Help Desk, Desktop Support and Network Services teams.
  • Find creative ways to keep operating costs to a minimum.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of effective and efficient processes.
  • Support consolidation of services which includes planning, testing, license management, capacity planning, and installation of computer systems hardware and software, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree
  • 6 or more years of IT leadership and been responsible for key IT projects within a large, enterprise level corporate environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware network architecture. (VCP6 Certified)
  • Very strong experience in software defined networking. (CCNA Certified)
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Nexus equipment. (CCNP-Route Certified)
  • Experience with All Flash FAS which is Enterprise-class scale-out all-flash storage for both SAN and NAS
