PowerServe is Hiring a Lift Station Technician Near Sarasota, FL
Job DescriptionJob Summary:
Under the supervision of the Lift Station Coordinator, this candidate performs skilled work up to journeyman level, including, but not limited to, the installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, generators and pumps, controls, and equipment, in accordance with standard practices of the trade; and related work as required.
An employee in this class performs skilled electrical assignments. Employee will also perform electrical tasks in accordance with the standard practices of the electrical trade. Assignments are received as a result of preplanned projects. This is a full-time position, located in Collier County/ Naples area of SW Florida.Examples of Duties:
Knowledge: Thorough Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the electrical trade; thorough knowledge of local and national electrical codes; thorough knowledge of local and proper safety precautions of the electrical codes; thorough knowledge of the hazards and proper safety precautions of the electrical trade.
Skills: Safely utilize tools, materials, and standard equipment of the electrical trade; ability to troubleshoot and locate needed repairs in electrical systems, motors, and controls.
Ability to: work from specifications, drawings, and blueprints; estimate the time necessary to complete a job and to estimate the amount of materials required.
Acceptable Training and Experience:
Powerserve Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Linda and Al Hernandez. Initially, the company consisted of a group of ex Florida Power & Light employees. This group of senior people included areas of expertise in substation engineering, protection & control, and substation construction and maintenance. Our company has been growing since then by hiring people of integrity and training them. We currently are performing substation and protection & control work throughout Florida and in various other states. We have performed these projects in Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. We excel at difficult projects and system-wide improvements/modifications. If we can perform the required work safely, in a quality manner, and with acceptable productivity, we will seriously consider any project. The company is transitioning to a 100% employee owned company.

Assignments are received as a result of preplanned projects. This is a full-time position, located in Collier County/ Naples area of SW Florida.Examples of Duties:
- Installs, alters, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, fixtures, transformers and other electrical equipment.
- Designs, installs and maintains city wide generators
- Works with engineers on designs of lift stations
- Maintains scada system and installs
- Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, control outlets, fixtures, motors and other such equipment
- Tests and maintains electrical equipment; evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges.
- Data Entry for run times to maintain efficient pumping system
- Locates and corrects power failures and short circuits
- Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves and motors.
- Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.
- Prepares accurate records for preventative maintenance.
- Prepares records for flow at lift stations, wells, and plant
- Inspects, test, cleans, and may repair alarms, switches and sensors.
- Order materials to maintain sewer system
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

Acceptable Training and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 4 years experience at in the Water and Sewer field including Electrical.
- Class 3-4 Operator Certification Licenses in Water Treatment, Water Production, Water Distribution, and Wastewater Collection
- CDL Class A License
