Maggie Valley United Methodist Church is Hiring a Manager of Facilities Near Maggie Valley, NC

The primary role of the Manager of Facilities is to ensure that the church grounds (especially the inside of the church) is clean, safe and well-maintained. This position is an integral part of the ministries of MVUMC. An inviting facility lends itself to deeper fellowship, meaningful worship and a community that can focus on the mission of the church.

Ideally, this person should proactively monitor the church facility to notice anything that needs care or attention. This person should take pride in the cleanliness of the building. This person should work well with others to oversee the most efficient and collaborative use of church property.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for keeping the entire church clean, tidy and attractive, between events, services and other activities.

Responsible for general cleaning that includes but is not limited to: floors, ceilings, pews, chairs, bathrooms.

Empty all trash cans at least twice a week and more often as needed.

Assess and make recommendations to the Pastor about any safety issues or concerns, such as fire safety equipment, locks, first aid kits, AED, etc.

Locking and unlocking church and barn (if needed) for services and events.

Maintaining general upkeep of inside church building, including but not limited to: changing light bulbs, making minor repairs and making recommendations to the Trustees about larger repairs, inventory supplies, and general maintenance.

General upkeep of outside property, including but not limited to: Blowing leaves/debris out of entrance/walkways, putting salt down when needed, refilling dog waste bags and emptying dog waste container by barn, removing large limbs from church yard, pruning/weeding seasonally as needed, general upkeep of playground area and deck behind church.

Responsible for inventory and maintenance of all church tools and other maintenance property. When items are needed, coordinate with Admin Assistant.

The Manager of Facilities is a part-time position. Hours per week may vary, but it is estimated that the job will require around 20 hours per week. Trust and collaboration are key traits to be fruitful in ministry at MVUMC.

The Manager reports directly to the Pastor. In coordination with the Pastor, the Manager will be accountable to the Church Board and will be evaluated on a yearly basis.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
