The Position

As an Operations Specialist at CANA, you will be an essential part of our retail operations team and support our stores in delivering on our mission of legendary customer experiences. Reporting to senior management, the Operations Specialist will work with our leadership team to drive continuous improvement in all areas. You will work cross-functionally with various departments; including inventory, retail, and marketing, to develop, improve, and implement CANA's operational standards and procedures. Our ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, cannabis operations experience, and be a multi-functional problem solver adept at working in a dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Development & Consistency: Develop and improve CANA’s operational resources. Ensure that all resources, such as SOPs, job aids, training materials and checklists, are harmonized across our locations and systems to meet CANA's operating standards.
  • Administrative & Operational Support: Assist in administrative and operational functions as necessary across retail, inventory, and marketing to deliver on implementation of standards and key objectives. Assisting to identify areas of improvement while also providing meaningful solutions.
  • Project Management: Function as a global communicator on behalf of the senior leadership team to drive initiatives at the store level. Assist in the planning and execution of company initiatives and objectives.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with management to document and implement changes that enhance our brand, stores and product offerings.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular evaluations of existing business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement, as well as putting systems in place to ensure quality assurance and control in line with CANA's commitment to excellence.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze operational metrics to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, and areas for improvement being sure to update and inform to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Customer Focus: Act as an internal advocate for customer needs, ensuring that all operations contribute to delivering a legendary customer experience.
  • Systems Support: Understand and own the components of the CANA technology stack, codifying and setting standards across the network for consistent use of POS, display, and e-commerce systems.
  • Team Communication: Foster open and honest communication within the team, adhering to CANA's values of transparency and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and solve operational issues, ensuring that the team can meet its objectives efficiently.
  • Operational Compliance: Maintains our operational compliance across all departments using SOPs, batch records, checklists, and data logs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in operations within cannabis retail
  • Comprehensive understanding of Dutchie POS / Backoffice and METRC softwares required. Implementation experience preferred.
  • Experience with google sheets/excel, headset, and other analytics tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Friendly, able to connect with different groups of people in different environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must pass all required background checks
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or state ID
  • Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Must report to multiple locations in Bristol County, Massachusetts, for a minimum of 3 days each work week. Additional days on-site may be required.
  • Remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 30 pounds (100 pounds with assistance). This job function may include walking or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over, and/or crouching. This job may include periodic outdoor work exposed to weather conditions.
