Wisk Aero is Hiring a Quality Inspection Supervisor Near Mountain View, CA

We are looking for a Quality Inspection Supervisor who will lead and develop our Quality Inspection team members at our Mountain View, CA facilities. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring inspectors receive proper mentorship, coaching and training to be effective at performing their jobs. The Quality Inspection Supervisor will regularly partner with manufacturing, engineering and supply chain to ensure the inspection team is effectively integrating with their respective teams to support the aircraft build.
Within 3 months you will:
    • Have developed positive working relationships with your subordinates and ensure they have growth plans and the tools they need to be successful.
    • Have developed an effective working relationship with cross functional peers from Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain which helps support the build of our Gen 6 aircraft.
    • Develop a staffing plan to ensure coverage of all production shops.
    • Understand the current inspection capability, develop a plan to enhance or expand our technical ability.
Within 6 months you will:
    • Develop processes to ensure that products and processes comply with engineering requirements, company processes and government regulations
    • Have completed hiring and training a team of quality professionals, as appropriate for the near term business needs.
    • Determine the measurement metrics to be used to display the quality of the production system health.
    • Work with the Quality Engineering team to analyze metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Within 12 months you will:
    • Develop a capacity plan that will depict the steps the inspection team will take to support future production expansion efforts.
    • Established the needed quality processes to support production in our effort to gain our FAA production certification.
    • Develop the inspection team to understand conformity and certification of aircraft parts, assemblies and final assembly.
Required:
    • 9 years experience working within a manufacturing environment, preference for higher-rate operations.
    • 5 years working within the aerospace industry
    • Previous supervisor or lead experience
    • Able to positively influence team members to complete assigned tasks or projects.
    • Ability to ensure the quality control system is compliant to released Wisk process documents.
    • Experience developing and training employees on inspection techniques, various inspection tools and quality processes
    • Able to build inspection capacity plans designed to support production schedule(s)
    • Able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • Open to occasional travel
Preferred:
    • Experience with Certification and conformity of aircraft parts or assemblies.
    • Lean Six Sigma Training/Certification
    • Knowledge of AS9100
    • 12 years experience in a Quality manufacturing environment, preference for higher-rate operations and/or aerospace industry
    • 5 years of supervisory experience
    • Bachelors Degree
$136,664 - $157,085 a year

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $136,664 - $157,085 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
