American Ballet Theatre (ABT) is one of the greatest dance companies in the world. Since its founding season in 1940, ABT's mission has been to create, present, preserve, and extend the incredible repertoire of classical dancing for the widest possible audience. ABT's repertoire includes full-length classics from the nineteenth century, the finest works from the early twentieth century, and acclaimed contemporary masterpieces. Reporting to the Director of Membership, the Membership Associate is a key part of a three-person team that serves 3,700 members/donors and raises as much as $2 million in membership/annual fund revenue. The Associate's role is rooted in content generation related to direct mail, email, and telefundingsolicitations, as well as communications about member events, all with the goal of increasing net revenue. The Associate is responsible for stewardship through customer service on the phone, via email and in person, as well as donor cultivation.
Specific Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of customer service within 24 hours to members via phone, email, and in person at the Membership Table during performance seasons.
• This role has particular responsibility for the membership in box, as well as member requests for video content access and resubscribes or unsubscribes to our mailing lists.
• Mail merchandise and incentive gifts to members as part of benefit fulfillment.
• Greet members during in-season Membership Table.
• Contribute to telefunding plans as relates to membership benefits.
• Create/send Mail Chimp emails before and after member events throughout the year.
• Send acknowledgement letters to Junior Council members.
• Contribute to JC membership growth through research and cultivation.
• Batching event registrations daily.
• Run reports to show engagement activity on digital platforms, including emails, website traffic, and general membership.
• Run a weekly year-to-date report and deliver a weekly summary of conversation with Telefunding.
• Learn the basics of Raisers' Edge and be able to back up team members as needed.

Essential Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in fundraising, events, or customer service or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to copy edit and abide by ABT Style Guide.
• Must be extremely organized, attentive to detail, able to multi-task, and meet strict deadlines
• Greet donors with a cheerful mindset and deliver excellent customer service, with the goal of developing a genuine rapport that supports a long-term relationship between the donor and organization.
• Must work collaboratively and collegially within the Development department and across the organization interdepartmentally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Mail Chimp is required; Familiarity with databases, such as Raiser's Edge is beneficial; Candidate should expect to become skilled in Raisers Edge.

$40,000 - $45,000 a year
