Allegiance Benefit Plan Management is Hiring a Product Lead Near Missoula, MT

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales Operations

LOCATION: Allegiance office or off-site

FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Aligned with the Allegiance Proposal and Sales teams, the Allegiance Product Lead is positioned as a subject matter expert in Third Party Administrator "TPA" solutions sold direct to prospects and clients by leading the rate-setting and underwriting process, coordinating activities to ensure complete sales proposals, and facilitating efficient transition from the sales process to implementation for newly sold clients.

This role will work in conjunction with the Allegiance Distribution Lead, Allegiance VP Sales & Service, and Cigna Local Market and National Accounts teams across the Cigna enterprise to support Request for Proposal efforts and Sales strategy. Key factors for success include a strong understanding of Health Benefits and TPA marketplace, excellent communication skills and demonstrated expertise in the delivery of Allegiance capabilities.

The incumbent is expected to communicate professionally with peers, supervisors, subordinates, vendors, customers, and the public, and to be respectful and courteous in the conduct of this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Essential job functions include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on Allegiance capabilities for Cigna Sales Teams, National Accounts, and other internal contacts
  • Understand key factors influencing Allegiance pricing and be able to develop and speak to financial proposals
  • Coordinate closely with Cigna Underwriting resources to review proposed fee positions, earnings, and requested funds and credits and best position proposals externally
  • Structure and propose applicable performance guarantees for new proposals
  • Advise NBMs, NA Sales, and others on case strategy as it relates to Allegiance TPA bids
  • Understand Allegiance and Cigna Presale, RFP, and Sales processes and support opportunities as necessary
  • Partner with Allegiance RFP Coordinator, Proposal Writer, Proposal Manager, and others to develop competitive RFP responses
  • Participate in Strategy, Training, and other internal calls to educate on Allegiance capabilities
  • Be assigned specific new and renewing business proposals and own the Allegiance TPA response
  • Support sold cases through the implementation process to verify sold products, pricing, and scope of services as proposed in the RFP
  • Contributes to the daily workflow with regular and punctual attendance.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: College Degree or years equivalent related experience.

Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of experience in health benefits, finance, underwriting and/or human resources preferred. Experience in the TPA industry is very strongly preferred

  • A self-motivated individual displaying ownership, accountability, decisiveness and assertiveness
  • Strong organization skills and ability to work cooperatively with others in a highly matrixed environment
  • Highly analytical; detail oriented; data-driven where appropriate
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills including public speaking, presentation and writing skills
  • Experience with underwriting or rate development preferred
  • Extensive PC skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to organize and recall large amounts of information including interactions with employees, agents, plan participants and customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret benefit summary plan descriptions, insurance documents and regulations.
  • Ability to project a professional image and positive attitude in any work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to analyze and solve problems with professionalism and patience, and to exercise good judgment when making decisions.
