Ivinson Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Room Service Assistant Near Laramie, WY
Base salary starting at: $14.30 / hr
Essential Functions
•Visits with each patient to take their order, helping the patient follow the prescribed diet order.
•Assists with tray assembly, delivers trays to patients, and picks up trays.
•Records calorie count information and charts meal intake.
•Assists the kitchen as needed.
•Other duties as assigned.
Education
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
•At least one (1) year food handling and customer service experience preferred.
•Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting preferred.
Credentials
•Must have current, valid BLS certification or must obtain within 60 days of hire and must maintain credential throughout employment with IMH.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to learn how to chart oral intake of meals in the Electronic Medical Record.
- Ability to obtain Diet Orders and RSA reports from the Electronic Medical Record.
- Ability to complete therapeutic diet training and attend monthly diet education in-services.
- Knowledge of hospital therapeutic diet orders.
- Ability to properly handle food based on ServSafe Guidelines.
- Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate effective listening skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
- Possess exceptional problem solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
- Ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
- Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position
