• The principle duties of the Operations Laborer occupation will be to perform plant operations work consistent with their training and qualifications and to assist and support others to the best of their ability.
• Training for this occupation will contain elements of the Equipment Operator Trainee, Yard Operator Trainee and Plant Operator Trainee qualification books.
• Operations Laborers will also perform any general plant support (cleaning, assisting) work, including but not limited to custodial work support/relief and grounds maintenance.
• Operations training will include the attainment of a third (3rd) class Power Plant Engineer or equivalent license, as referenced in the Boiler Operation Training Agreement, to enter Step 4. 
• Operations Laborers will be available for work at any FO Plant in southeast Wisconsin and will normally work the schedule of the Operations organization at their home plant.
• In the event of dispatch, they will work the schedule of the work group to which they are assigned, per the collective bargaining agreement.
• Transportation to any of FO’s southeast Wisconsin locations is the employee’s responsibility.
• Will require the use of a respirator in certain situations.

Plant Operator Selection System (POSS):  Ability to read and understand technical material, ability to understand mechanical principles, skill in solving and manipulating mathematical relationships including word problems and algebra, ability to visualize the proper assembled form of an object, and speed and accuracy in reading tables and graphs. Suggested Preparation: Review of basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, fractions); basic algebra; and basic mechanical principals.
