• Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise team of quality personnel. Set performance goals, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations. Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and collaboration.

• Operations Oversight: Lead incoming inspectors, line / department inspectors and auditors to ensure product is to specification at all areas of the manufacturing process. Establish performance metrics and regularly analyze data to identify areas for improvement. Create and maintain inspection documents, quality alerts at operator level and operator standard of work.

• Customer Service: Utilizing data from Vendnet and Sales, utilize field issue data to create inspection strategies to ensure customers receive the highest quality machines.

• Training and Development: Determine departmental job functions needs, create standard of work for those functions, evaluate current departmental employee skills, utilizing S.M.A.R.T. goals, create employee specific development goals and KPIs. Build job specific training plans and required skill sets for future new employees to the department.

• Performance Analysis: Create KPIs to drive internal quality improvements, external vendor improvement/selection, improved processes, and personnel training programs. Utilize those KPIs to create scorecards for every departmental area, perform GEMBA walks and standups, reviewing scorecards to maximize departmental/company output and solve challenges. Report departmental KPIs to Executive Leadership team with plans to continually improve the department.

• Technology and Systems: Build systems and processes to lead best in class quality environment. Stay up to date with new technologies, determining if they are a fit for the business, create business proposals with favorable ROI and present them for approval.

• Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance programs to facilitate the proper manufacturing of Wittern’s products. Assemble, mentor, and train a high functioning team of QC personnel that have a passion for quality and root cause analysis.

• Budget and Cost Management: Prepare and manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Monitor expenses, identify areas for cost reduction, and optimize resource allocation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and/or 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing-based quality environment.
• Proven experience as a quality leader or in a similar leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of world class quality practices, ISO9001, root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in using ERP, MRP, statics and technology.
• Ability to work interdepartmentally to find root cause issues and insure they are corrected.
• Willingness to lead / manage a team working different shifts.

The Director of Quality plays a crucial role in the overall quality and profitability of Wittern Group manufacturing operations. They are responsible for fostering an environment to create a best-in-industry quality product for our customers through improving quality operations and systems inside our two assembly facilities. Leading a team of trained quality personnel, ensuring incoming quality products, quality internal manufacturing and continuous improvement activities from a data driven decision matrix. This position oversees all manufacturing quality activities in both manufacturing facilities. Working interdepartmentally, this position brings together data and accountability to ensure we are continuously improving the quality of the products and processes that define Wittern.
