Position Title: Learning & Development Consultant

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Learning & Development Consultant. This position provides professional development, implementation, and management of training and development to support the department's mission. Responsible for administering, managing, developing and delivering training for the MDT Department statewide. Provides professional coaching in one-on-one and group settings to aide with employee development. Assists in the formulation of strategic workforce planning initiatives, advises management on performance management, and workforce development. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities. The position reports to the Workforce Planning Supervisor and does not supervise others.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Human Behavior, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.

•3 years of related work experience.

•Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 7 years of related experience.
This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•Knowledge of the principles of facilitation and training techniques.

•Knowledge of human behavior; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; and learning and motivation.

•Knowledge of adult education and professional development.

•Knowledge of measurement techniques for training results/effects.
