Position Summary: Working closely with the VP of HR & Recruiting, is responsible for all recruiting efforts for the credit union. Responsible for ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruiting lifecycle; helping to build a strong employer brand, and attracting qualified candidates using multiple sources. Assists in other areas of the Human Resources department as needed.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Develop and implement innovative recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the credit union. 
  • Work with advertising and recruiting agencies to ensure visibility to qualified candidates. Use traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc. to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Post and manage all open positions in our Applicant Tracking System and other job boards.
  • Conduct thorough phone, virtual, or in-person interviews to identify candidate qualifications and alignment with our company culture and values.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop targeted recruitment plans.
  • Refer qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Work with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations including affirmative action plan compliance
  • Coordinate appropriate employment testing, background checks, reference checks, and verifications
  • With VP of HR & Recruiting approval, extend verbal and written job offers to candidates
  • Manage applicant activity in our Applicant Tracking System.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our processes and strategies.
  • Backup support in other areas of Human Resources as needed
  • Perform any and all duties as required by the VP of HR & Recruiting

Requirements

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Advanced skills in interviewing techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of all positions in the credit union as well as the skills and competencies necessary to be successful in each position
  • Basic understanding of Westmark’s organizational structure
  • Extensive knowledge of personnel policies and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • A general understanding of all credit union products, services, systems, and policies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to develop and maintain professional relationships with management, employees, and job applicants

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two years of relevant recruiting/human resources experience, or; 
  • High school diploma, a minimum of four years of relevant recruiting/human resources experience or;
  • A combination of formal education, recruiting/human resources experience and banking experience.
