Salary: $81,000-$90,000

Position Overview :

The People and Culture Manager is responsible for one of Blueprint NC’s greatest assets, its people. Overseeing the operational aspects and the human resources function while also contributing to the development and execution of people and culture strategies aligned with Blueprint NC’s goals and values. This role requires a combination of administrative expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of human resources practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: This role will serve as part of our Extended Leadership Team and supervise the Administrative Coordinator. You will serve as the budget manager of People and Operations; and ensure timely budgeting and expensing
  • HR Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including employee records management, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization. Manage Bamboo HR software platforms to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy. Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with department leads to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies. Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer negotiations. Facilitate new employee onboarding programs to ensure a smooth transition and integration into BPNC.
  • Data, Tools, and Software: Serve as the administrator to organizational data, software, and tools. Convene the database team working group. Maintain all contracts and vendor relationships
  • Performance Management: Support the implementation and administration of performance management processes, including but not limited to goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance-related matters.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as an unbiased, trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations issues.Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns and recommend appropriate actions to address issues.
  • Scheduling: Maintain the organizational calendar, working with teams to prevent heavy overlap and support with peak timing. Work with leadership to schedule huddles and retreats.
  • Training and Development: Collaborate with departmental managers to identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies. Facilitate training sessions on topics such as leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and compliance training.
  • Safety and Security: A core and central value to BPNC, this role will work with leadership to develop overall policies and procedures. Convene the security team working group.
  • Culture and Engagement: Partner with leadership to develop and promote a positive organizational culture aligned with BPNC’s values and objectives. Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including team-building activities, recognition programs, and employee feedback mechanisms.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on HR operations and employee relations.
  • Strong understanding of HR laws and regulations, including employment standards, labor relations, and workplace health and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proficiency in HR software applications.

Preferred

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with state and local government bodies and agencies, elected officials, and/or Board of Elections officials.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with working in coalition and/or within a table infrastructure.
