Company Overview: Southeast Diesel, Inc. is a small, dynamic business dealing in diesel engine service and part sales. We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations.

Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial transactions and records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent numerical skills, and proficiency in relevant software applications. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and producing financial reports for management review.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
• Process payroll using Gusto and ensure accurate calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
• Assist with budget preparation and monitor expenses to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as vendors, clients, and financial institutions.
• Assist with year-end financial audits and tax preparation.
• Provide administrative support as needed, including filing documents and responding to financial inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field a plus, but not required
• Proven experience working as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation or equivalent certification a plus, but not required

Hours/Benefits: This is a part-time position – up to 24 hours a week. The preferred hours would be somewhere between 8:30 until 3:30. Upon hiring, a set schedule could be made. Hourly rate will be established based on experience level.
