Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Press Helper to join our team. As a Press Helper, you will aid the Press Operator in the operation of the press to ensure acceptable quality at maximum productivity.
The Press Helper will ensure all product specifications are met, ensure paper is loaded, perform preventive maintenance on the press and accurately record production data on job tickets, load slips etc. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Duties:
- Ensure paper is loaded, and all plates, stock, ink and proofs for the next job are at the press before the previous job is completed.
- Empty waste ink, chemical containers, and soiled rag containers daily.
- Monitor pH and conductivity of fountain solution on presses.
- Ensure skids are properly marked for next operation prior to leaving the pressroom.
- Ensure work produced exceeds quality guidelines.
- Accurately record production data on job tickets, load slips etc.
- Work with Press Operator to ensure preventive maintenance is performed each week.
- Safely operate a forklift to transport materials within the facility.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to read and understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, job tickets and procedure manuals.
- Able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form.
- Understand basic math.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Two (2) years in trade on similar equipment.
- Graphic arts and/or technical school background.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants and chemicals.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
- Willing to work all shifts.
- Safety toe shoes required.
- Hearing protection required.
Hours:
3rd shift – Monday to Friday: 11 PM – 7 AM
Pay from $16.50 per hour DOE and a Shift Differential of $1.00/hour
