JOB FUNCTION

The Quality Team Leader is responsible for developing and fostering strong relationships with Supervision, Leadership, Production and Quality personnel to promote company quality programs and to proactively respond to customer needs. Directly manage, train, develop and evaluate the Quality Analyst(s). Use quality metrics to develop improvement activities and quantify improvement results. Coordinate, support and participate in Continuous Improvement efforts. This position is also responsible for quality assurance inspection and monitoring functions within Ultrafab to assure compliance with company policies, procedures, and product specifications. Will take the lead in the non-conforming material process to help determine root cause, and identification and implementation of necessary Corrective Action.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Document Control for procedures and work instruction
• Oversee and ensure consistent application of quality standards
• Manage, maintain and respond to the customer corrective action process
• Manage and maintain calibration records
• Provide direction to the Quality Assurance operators
• Assist all functional areas in applying statistical measurements/process capability studies
• Must fulfill QA duties as outlined by QA work instruction for assigned shift in addition to these responsibilities outline above
• Any and all other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

• Associates degree preferred, however will substitute applicable quality/leadership experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3 years quality experience required, with at least 2 years in a quality leadership role. Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts preferred
• Must be trained/signed off as a Machine Operator
• Must be able to communicate one-on-one and in small groups with employees, customers and vendors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. The employee must frequently lift/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must be able to use hearing protection.
