Position Summary:

Coordinates and provides transportation to seniors participating in the program and assists with meal service to the seniors.

Essential Functions:

- Transport seniors participating in the program round-trip, to and from their homes and the program site, maximum of 9 individuals at a time. Assist seniors in and out of the program van.

- Pick up congregant meals from vendor and deliver to site.

- Assist with meal service to the seniors.

- Use daily inspection sheet to log condition of program vehicle and mileage of trips.

- Maintain cleanliness of program vehicles, inside and outside.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

NOTE: If you are employed under a County Contract, it is understood that if the contract is cancelled, this position becomes null and void on the date indicated by the County.

Working Conditions:

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school graduate or equivalent.

- Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English.

- Bilingual in English/Spanish, helpful.

- Have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Card.

- Must maintain a valid CA Class C drivers license.

- Must successfully complete Decision Driving Test before driving for The Salvation Army and annually recertify as required.

- Must meet certification by and participate in The Salvation Armys Fleet Safety Program. (The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Policy dictates that an employee may not obtain more than (2) moving violations or accidents within any 12 months period).
