Description

Key Responsibilities

• Perform endangered species habitat survey walkovers.
• Complete bat surveys using mist nets, acoustic detectors, and harp traps following the current Rangewide Guidance provided by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
• Complete fish surveys using electrofish shockers and/or senses and dip nets using approved survey methods.
• Complete mussel survey using snorkeling and view-buckets.
• Complete stream assessments using the rapid bioassessment protocol (RBP) forms.
• Conduct wetland delineations.
• Familiar with Trimble systems, ArcGIS and Global Mapper.
• Prepare professional, economical, and accurate reports and technical studies.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of policies, regulations, and methodology required for ecology-related studies and reports.
• Must be able and willing to travel and stay overnight while completing project tasks.
• Seeks new training and technology required for project development and meeting client’s standards for conducting work.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental-related field.
• Federal Bat Permit desired, but not required.
• Must maintain a valid, current driver’s license.
• Up to date on pre-exposure rabies vaccinations or willingness to obtain vaccination.
