Materials Management SupervisorSalt Lake City, UTFull time: $65,000-75,000 / yr. (DOE) Benefits.
Join Our Team as a Materials Management Specialist!Are you ready to take charge of materials management and drive efficiency in our inventory, projects, and customer orders? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Management Specialist to join our dynamic team.Key Responsibilities:Purchasing:
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors.
  • Negotiate to secure high-quality supplies at competitive prices.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Project Managers to determine material needs for each job.
  • Oversee the purchasing process: issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and verifying invoices.
  • Reconcile receiving/purchasing documentation and ensure accurate turnover to accounting.
  • Analyze data and reports to identify improvement areas in purchasing and warehousing.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and implement new technologies for enhanced efficiency.
Warehouse Management:
  • Develop and implement procedures to optimize warehouse space and product flow.
  • Supervise the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory.
  • Manage logistics for incoming and outgoing products, including FedEx and UPS shipments.
  • Assist field employees in pulling products for jobs, ensuring accuracy in product distribution.
Inventory Management:
  • Conduct inventory audits to minimize shrinkage and identify improvement areas.
  • Maintain accurate counts of incoming inventory and ensure inventory accuracy.
Building Maintenance:
  • Oversee all building maintenance needs to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in purchasing, warehouse management, or both, with a preference for construction project-based purchasing experience.
  • Proven negotiation and cost-saving skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Forklift license (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quick decision-making skills with minimal information.
Education & Training:
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management best practices.
  • Proficiency in software programs related to inventory management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of construction rules and regulations.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold weather conditions.
  • Exposure to distracting and loud noise.
  • Exposure to contaminants, such as fumes.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time.
