Job Summary
A Forklift Operator moves product or materials in a warehouse environment using powered tools and vehicles.
Job Responsibilities
- Operates industrial vehicles and equipment (pallet-jacks, forklifts, hand-trucks, etc.).
- Transports raw materials, full goods and / or finished goods to the designated storage areas.
- Loads and unloads designated trailers and / or route trucks.
- Assists with the management of inventory and product loss control.
- Adheres to the regulatory, safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Fill in for other warehouse positions as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Speaking : Constantly (investigates, negotiates, recommends, reports, etc.)
- Acute Vision : Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents)
- Mobility : Frequent travel throughout Heartland facility (walking in warehouse)
- Bending / Squatting : Constantly (picking up product, moving product)
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures vary with the seasons.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one year of work experience.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Prior warehouse experience preferred
- Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
