Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Part-time - 10AM to 6PM with occasional Saturday shifts

Cedarcrest is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the clinical supervision of the Physical Therapist, providing direct physical therapy services and consultation to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Physical Therapist in the development and implementation of treatment programs designed to enhance the physical well-being and functional abilities of our residents.

The goal for this position is to improve carryover and continuity of care. We are interested in candidates who enjoy some autonomy, is confident and has the ability to work well with others and guide others in treatment plans and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Physical Therapist to assess residents' needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Implement treatment programs, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training, under the direction of the Physical Therapist
  • Monitor resident's progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Educate staff, residents and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques to facilitate carryover of treatment goals into daily activities
  • Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to residents
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Previous experience working with children and young adults preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to residents
