Job Description: 508 Compliance Analyst

We are seeking a skilled 508 Compliance Analyst to provide essential support for the ongoing operations of the VBA Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The successful candidate needs a deep understanding of Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both IT hardware and software compliance, as well as a proven ability to create strategies to maximize functionality for ADA users. This role requires expertise in redesigning and/or developing solutions to address accessibility issues and ensure compliance with 508 standards.

Responsibilities

* Utilize in-depth knowledge of Section 508 of the ADA to assess and ensure compliance with accessibility standards for both IT hardware and software.

* Develop and implement strategies to enhance the functionality of IT systems for ADA users, while maintaining compliance with 508 requirements.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify accessibility issues and implement solutions to address them.

* Conduct audits and assessments of IT hardware and software to identify potential accessibility barriers and areas for improvement.

* Provide guidance and training to team members on 508 compliance best practices and standards.

* Stay current on emerging trends and developments in accessibility standards and regulations.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related scientific or technical discipline.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in 508 compliance, with a focus on both IT hardware and software.

* Thorough understanding of Section 508 of the ADA and other relevant accessibility standards and regulations.

* Experience in redesigning and/or developing solutions to address accessibility issues in IT systems.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical environments for accessibility compliance.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

* Certification in accessibility compliance (e.g., IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies).

* Experience working with assistive technologies and conducting usability testing with users with disabilities.

* Knowledge of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and other relevant accessibility standards.

* Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and methodologies.
