JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Has telephone and personal contact with customers and employees regarding service and installation coordination.
• Will be responsible cleaning and maintaining Company vehicle in order to maintain a professional appearance.
• Must be supervised by a Level II or Level III technician.
• Will perform duties as directed by field supervision.
• Will properly document time sheets and cards to ensure complete accuracy of timekeeping for all jobs.
• Shall be responsible for participating in Safety and Tool Box talks every two weeks.
• The technician will conduct themselves and present themselves in a professional manner, including appearance at all times while on the clock and while in a J & L uniform.
• Adherence to all J & L Door Service, Inc. policies and procedures as listed in the employee handbook.
• Performs other duties to facilitate functioning of business as required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Basic installation and servicing knowledge of all product lines offered by J & L Door Service, Inc. The technician must know how to properly fill out a work order and time sheets.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• No certifications are required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• 2 years construction experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain customer relationships in person.
• Must have excellent telephone skills.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be well organized.

SCHOOLING OR EQUIVALENT: 2 years of previous construction experience.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS: This job will require contact with both internal and external customers of J & L Door Service, Inc. The contact will be for the purpose of selling products, obtaining information, advising the customer, solving problems, and explaining pertinent information to other areas of the company. Adherence to the J & L Door Service, Inc. Communication Protocol is required.

CONFIDENTIAL DATA: The discussion of product costing or labor costing other then advising of published labor rates is prohibited. The discussion of pay rate, wage increases or other items relating to personal compensation is prohibited.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY: This job requires the individual to use various measuring tools that require precise measurements for the proper installation of products offered by the company. This job requires the individual to obtain, create, and communicate accurate information. Errors in interpreting information between the customer and other departments could result in the improper installation and servicing of products offered by the company. This could result in lost revenue and customer goodwill.

MENTAL EFFORT: This job requires a great of attention to safety in the workplace. The technician should think of safety as the top priority for both themselves, other employees and the customer.

RESOURCEFULNESS AND INITIATIVE: Job requires discretion and independent judgment as it pertains to obtaining and disseminating information.

ENVIRONMENT: Works in an field environment at various locations. Each location will have different safety requirements that the technician must be aware.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
