This is an exciting, high-profile position ideal for someone who wants to expand and share their lighting and lighting controls knowledge. As a training specialist you will work in the Institute, the centerpiece of product and technology education at Current. Your primary responsibility is the development and delivery of engaging presentations to a broad range of channel partners in a formal classroom environment as well as developing e-learning modules for Current’s on-line learning management system. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop interactive training presentations across indoor, outdoor and controls portfolio of solutions targeted to reach key personas.
• Create technical content for AIA presentations, provide training for individuals who require continuing education credits and conduct ACES training. 
• Ensure product demos are easily accessible so all training sessions offer technical aspects and effective application of lighting, lighting products and lighting techniques.
• Partner with sales to develop strategic VIP experience that include customized training agenda and hospitality event that leads to the optimal customer experience.
•  On-going maintenance and facility upkeep to ensure training vignettes include new products and provide an interactive experience.
• Content management pipeline is continuously feeding new training modules into our e-learning on-line learning management system. 
• Periodic travel includes training channel partners at our strategically located facilities, attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows. 

This position is located at Current's Greenville, SC headquarters. This role requires 4 days a week in the office with 1 day remote.

Qualifications

• BS degree in relevant field and 3 years lighting related experience. 
•  Lighting Certification (LC) from NCQLP a plus
• Sales and/or product management or product marketing experience in lighting and/or lighting controls preferred.
• Project management experience managing multiple deadlines across a broad scope of projects.
• Strong technical lighting aptitude and versed in AIA standards for continuing education program. 
• Proficient in latest technology and software to create interactive training courses for on-demand learning management system. 
• Ability to articulate a product's features, advantages, and benefits during a customer presentation.
• Candidate must have polished verbal and non-verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical material in a large classroom environment.
• Candidate must have the ability to create and deliver presentations utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint as well as operate audio/video equipment to support training activities.
• Ability to teach in a classroom and product showroom environment up to 8 hours / day with a flexible work schedule periodically eating lunch and hosting after-hours hospitality events. 
• 25% travel to support remote training.

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $62,000-$78,000
