Optician-Lab

Job Description:

An optician-lab is responsible for creating and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses for patients. They work closely with optometrists to ensure that patients receive the correct prescription and that their eyewear fits properly. The optician-lab will use various tools and equipment to measure and cut lenses, as well as adjust frames to fit the patient's face. They will also maintain and repair eyewear as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists
• Measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses for patients
• Use various tools and equipment to cut and shape lenses
• Adjust frames to fit the patient's face
• Maintain and repair eyewear as needed
• Provide excellent customer service to patients
• Keep accurate records of patient orders and prescriptions
• Stay up-to-date with new eyewear trends and technology

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred experience working in an optometry practice
• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed
