Our Port Jefferson Station Store is actively seeking a FT Grocery Manager for their Grocery Department. Our Grocery Managers train and lead employees, order and stock products, manage inventory, check for expiration dates, and provide exceptional customer service.
Additional responsibilities of Grocery managers are to handle purchasing, staff management, financial reporting, customer service, and stocking of the shelves for the grocery department in a grocery store.
Responsibilities
1. Managing the inventory of a grocery department
Grocery managers have to keep track of what goes in and what goes out of their department. Inventory needs to increase or decrease based on the amount sold compared to the company’s expectations for each item.
2. Customer service
Assisting our customers is our number one priority. Individual will assist all customers with their questions and resolve all department customer issues. Will also work with department staff training to ensure a department standard.
3. Training employees
The Grocery Manager will be responsible for staff department training to ensure performance standards are set and followed.
4. Merchandising
Will be responsible for department merchandising to ensure proper display of product and sales. A trained eye and technique will be key with this function. Will work with Merchandising Department with communications on all products ordered and displayed.
