Underwriter Job Summary:

As an Underwriter at Pro Legal Funding, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and assessing applications from plaintiffs seeking pre-settlement funding. You will analyze various factors to determine the eligibility and risk associated with each case, ensuring responsible practices and compliance with company policies.

Underwriter Responsibilities:

Pre-Settlement Application Evaluation:

• Review and assess applications submitted by plaintiffs seeking pre-settlement funding.
• Analyze case details, including representation details, potential settlement amounts, and medical expenses, to determine eligibility and risk.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing legal documentation and communicating with attorneys and legal staff.

Risk Assessment:

• Evaluate the likelihood of case success and the expected timeframe for settlement.
• Assess the financial circumstances of applicants and their ability to receive funding upon settlement.
• Determine appropriate funding amounts and terms based on risk analysis and company guidelines.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Ensure all agreements are accurately completed and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed records of agreements, underwriting decisions, and communication with clients and legal representatives.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to pre-settlement funding and underwriting.
• Ensure the safety and security of clients' personal information.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline underwriting processes and enhance efficiency.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improving evaluation procedures and risk management strategies.
• Underwriter will participate in training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to continuously improve skills and expertise.

Underwriter Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in underwriting, lending, or financial analysis is highly preferred
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal and financial information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
