Work Description:

The QC Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a well thought out “Quality Management System” throughout the organization that can be documented for both internal and external communication. They will interact regularly with our production leadership team members as well as key suppliers and customers. They need to be able to identify and understand problems and establish practical SOP changes to remedy.

Responsibilities:

• Review quality issues as they arise to determine root cause and suggest remediation options.
• These will often be straightforward, however occasionally it will require technical deep dives with both internal team members and external suppliers.
• Define quality expectations with our external vendor partners and hold them accountable when standards are not met.
• Define and document quality expectations for internal manufacturing cells. Work across multiple cells to establish companywide “best practices” to eliminate variation in process/outputs.
• Track internal recuts/reworks to identify problematic SKU’s. Identify and implement solutions with production leadership team.
• Manage and train returns/warranty processing team – helping to review warranty claims to identify root cause and determine responsibility.
• Occasionally interface with customers to discuss root cause. Taking ownership and sharing corrective actions when we are at fault, defending our position when not.
• Help establish cross departmental (production, receiving, shipping, etc.) SOP’s as it relates minimizing quality issues.
• Interface with our customers’ quality departments to professionally communicate our quality initiatives while also helping to support theirs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field of study.
• 5 years working experience in QC position.
• Strong writing skills.
