Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Project Support Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DoD acquisition processes and a strong background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and/or materials sciences. This role involves overseeing the integration of complex multifunctional devices, ensuring reliability and maintainability, and managing test programs for submarine or surface ship systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects in compliance with DoD acquisition processes.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for program management and technical initiatives.
• Oversee the integration of complex multifunctional devices.
• Define and verify interfaces between components and systems.
• Conduct assessments of component and system-level reliability, maintainability, and availability.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Assess shipboard impacts of various systems and components.
• Conduct feasibility studies and requirements allocation analyses.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate designs and implementations.
• Supervise conceptual and detailed design phases for multi-functional facilities and support systems.

• Perform cost/benefit and life cycle cost analysis.
• Provide recommendations based on cost analysis findings.
• Contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of submarine or surface ship structural configurations, machinery, and components.
• Conduct evaluations at both model and full scale.

Required Skills and Experience

• B.S. in Engineering

• Minimum of 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition processes, including roles in DoD/Navy program management, Industry or Government technical management, or Industry or Government business management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
  • Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or materials sciences.
  • Integration of complex multifunctional devices.
  • Interface definition and verification.
  • Component and system-level reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Assessments of shipboard impacts.
  • Test case development and test program execution.
  • Requirements allocation.
  • Cost/benefit and life cycle cost analysis.
  • Feasibility studies.
• Experience in conceptual and detailed design and multi-functional facilities and support systems for test and evaluation of submarine or surface ship structural configurations, machinery, and/or component designs in model and full scale.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering software and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Master's Degree (MS) in the field of engineering.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
