JOB
Responsible for general cleaning of offices, restrooms, garage, transformer shop, meter lab, crew room, paved areas, and surrounding areas of Warehouse Complex. Assists Utility Crew with minor construction and maintenance of buildings and property and with repairs to private property damaged by Department personnel. Assists with grass cutting, trimming shrubs, and general maintenance of all Electricity Department properties.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Sweeps, cleans and waxes floors and dust furnishings in offices and crew room at Warehouse Complex. Cleans floors in transformer shop, meter lab and garage areas. Sweeps paved area around loading platform. Cleans up debris from surrounding areas of Warehouse Complex. Empties trash receptacles. Cleans restrooms and keeps tissue and towels replenished. Inventories janitorial stock and equipment and picks up supplies. Assists Utility Workers with minor carpentry work, concrete mixing and finishing, painting and sandblasting, and erecting fences. Delivers refuse to landfill. Cuts grass, trims shrubs, rakes leaves, and maintains grounds on Electricity Department property. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Ability to perform general janitorial work and operate floor polisher. Ability to safely operate forklift. Ability to safely operate automotive vehicles including trucks. Ability to operate mowers, weed eaters, hedge clippers, and other hand tools. Ability to read and write legibly. Ability to maintain good public and employee relations. Ability to communicate effectively. Physical Demands (with or without reasonable accommodation): Must be able to climb, bend, stoop and lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to drive vehicles and operate equipment. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
