THE ROLEThe Senior Financial Analyst will support the management and manufacturing team’s decision making through providing accurate product cost information and to create an environment of product cost awareness.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data and develop insights to drive business decisions, with a focus on financial and manufacturing accounting concepts. Includes periodic analysis of financial information (throughout the month, monthly, quarterly and yearly) relative to forecast, budget and trends.
- Supports Financial Controller in efforts to control fixed and variable costs in accordance with budgeted / forecasted spend. For example, this may include working on ways to increase real time cost visibility and identifying potential targets for cost efficiency improvements.
- Preparation of P&L and cash forecasts on a monthly basis, including working capital trends (AR, inventory, SNS, deferred revenue)
- Work with leadership teams to prepare the manufacturing and corporate facility’s budgets and three-year strategic plan, meeting corporate and divisional requirements and deadlines (Bottom-up approach)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, leveraging knowledge of financial and manufacturing accounting concepts.
- Performs other duties as required to ensure the success of the business unit.
- Experience in standard costing, in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in financial analysis.
- 6 to 10 years’ experience required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Preference will be given to those who have implemented a standard costing system.
- A team player with excellent people skills, knowing when to listen and when to speak up.
- Self-motivated individual.
- Effective at multi-tasking.
- Action oriented quick paced individual with a sense of urgency.
- Good problem-solving abilities.
- Positive achiever, who is able to accept and adjust to constructive feedback.
- Positive attitude and outlook.
- Exceptional attention to detail is essential to this position.
- ERP experience is an asset – preference will be given to IFS experience.
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong analytical skills
- Must possess a high level of Excel skills.
