As a Busser/Food Runner at The Early Owl, you will be an essential member of our team, responsible for ensuring a clean and organized dining area and supporting the service staff in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork will contribute to the overall success of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Table Preparation: Set up tables before guests’ arrival, ensuring they are clean, properly set with utensils, glassware, and condiments, and have appropriate table linens. Maintain table cleanliness throughout service, clearing dishes, glassware, and utensils promptly after guests finish their meals.

2. Beverage Service: Assist servers by refilling water glasses, delivering non-alcoholic beverages, and supporting the bar staff with the delivery of drinks. Collaborate with the service team to ensure guests’ beverage needs are met promptly and accurately.

3. Food Delivery: Retrieve food orders from the kitchen and deliver them to the appropriate tables, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to order specifications. Coordinate with the kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely and accurate food delivery, maintaining a high level of customer service.

4. Dining Area Maintenance: Continuously monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area. Clear and clean tables promptly, resetting them for new guests. Remove used dishes, glassware, and utensils to the dishwashing area, and assist in keeping the overall dining area tidy and presentable.

5. Guest Assistance: Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including providing additional utensils, napkins, or condiments as needed. Address any guest concerns or issues promptly, notifying the appropriate staff or manager for resolution.

6. Collaborative Teamwork: Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the service staff, kitchen team, and management. Support and assist colleagues during busy periods, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

7. Compliance with Safety and Sanitation Standards: Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, following proper hygiene practices and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure cleanliness and organization in work areas, including dining tables, service stations, and storage areas.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Busser, Food Runner, or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with colleagues.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy trays or bus tubs.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
