As a Director of Materials Management, you will be responsible for researching potential vendors and negotiating prices. This may involve managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks, optimizing routes, and minimizing transportation costs.
In your first few weeks in this Director of Materials Management role, you can expect to:
Develop and implement strategic plans for materials management that align with the overall goals and objectives of the company
Oversee the inventory control processes, including forecasting demand, ordering materials, monitoring stock levels, and managing inventory accuracy
Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure materials meet quality standards and specifications
Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
To apply for this Director of Materials Management role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
A degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Business Engineering, or a related discipline
10-15 years of relevant experience in materials management, procurement, supply chain, or supply chain roles, preferably within the automotive industry
3-5 years of leadership experience and technical experience
