Job Summary:

To support the salt manufacturing/packaging facility by managing the activities associated with projects to achieve plant goals related to productivity, safety, quality, environmental compliance, reliability, and cost reduction.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Successfully oversee projects from inception to completion involving the following processes (drying, screening, particle size reduction, compaction, storage and packaging).
• Investigate and recommend modifications to present operations when more flexible and feasible engineering alternatives could render improvements.
• Acts as an engineering consultant for day-to-day problems where engineering advice can resolve the issue.
• Select and monitor contractors to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
• Participates in the budgeting process and provides status reports for all open projects.
• Responsible for supporting the annual capital and expense budgeting process as assigned.
• Manage major projects to ensure targets of cost and timing are met.
• Participate in planned shutdown activities.
• Project submission for approval in accordance with submission format as defined in PAMs
• Become proficient in SAP systems specific to project functions, notifications, and procurement.
• Develop networks through other facilities and utilize available expertise for given activities.
• Participate in and support the maintenance work order process.
• Participate in all safety processes, lead by example, and ensure all contractors adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5 years of related experience in project management and in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Process and material handling machinery experience
• Automation, robotics, PLCs, programming experience.
• Organization skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems
• Autonomous, works with little to no supervision
• Demonstrated ability to be part of and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
• Master’s in engineering preferred.
• CAD experience
• SAP knowledge and experience preferred.
• Robotics and controls experience preferred.
