Pay: $23.20 per hour (experience will be compensated)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift times: Monday-Friday, 1 evening per week required, some weekends required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in youth development, health education, public health or related area, or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and managing educational programming for youth and/or adults 
• Demonstrates a high degree of group facilitation, lesson plan design, and program management skills. 
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Availability to work evenings and, on occasion, weekends.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Manage and facilitate all aspects of Teen Council, a yearlong sexual health youth leadership & peer education program, for the Twin Cities Metro region. Responsibilities include recruiting youth for programming; establishing mentor relationships with youth; meeting regularly with youth (often during evenings and/or weekends); facilitating education sessions and community-based impact projects in partnership with youth; training youth to serve as peer educators; providing support and recognition to youth; and planning, tracking, and completing program evaluation activities.
• Support the development of curriculum, materials, and training for Teen Council and various other Community Education programs, as assigned. 
• Help to develop and execute community engagement initiatives to increase access to sexual health education for BIPOC, LGBTQIA , IDD, people experiencing houselessness, and/or other populations in the region that experience disparate health outcomes.
• Design, develop, and deliver relevant and compelling sexual and reproductive health curricula for youth and adult learners, based on needs analysis, in the community either in person, virtually or both.
• Create and foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging for communities and employees and act as an advocate in implementing our mission “To affirm the right to reproductive and sexual health and freedom for all by providing excellent care, trusted education, and fierce advocacy.”
• Facilitate youth leadership and/or peer education programming that increases access to sex education for targeted groups in the assigned region.
• Perform duties related to education programs, including but not limited to, preparing education meeting space, managing database of participant volunteer hours and peer education contracts, arranging guest speakers, developing creative teaching strategies and activities, providing mentorship to program participants, and providing transportation for program participants when necessary.
• Act as a liaison to parents, guest speakers, teachers, and other community members.
• Plan and facilitate educational outreach programming on sexual health in settings such as schools, community organizations, alternative learning centers, youth housing programs, and treatment centers.
• Share oversight and provide staffing for outreach events, community fairs and other promotional efforts.
• Work independently, and in conjunction with supervisor, staff in CEE, other departments, and with volunteers.
• Build and maintain authentic and reciprocal relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and others invested in young people with a priority placed on BIPOC and LGBTQ youth populations. This may include participation in appropriate professional meetings and workgroups to build coalitions and collaboration with other community groups on educational programming.
• Deliver training to professionals and community organizations that support youth
• Assist with train-the-trainer sessions to build research-based, sexual and reproductive health proficiency with K-12 educators, health care professionals and social workers
• Work closely with the evaluation team to monitor fidelity, assess impact
• Collect, record, and manage program and outreach data, and assist in preparing reports as needed
• Assist the Regional Manager by training interns, volunteers, and Health Educators I and II who provide programming in designated areas and to designated communities, as needed
• Serve as consultant and resource specialist to the community education efforts made by PPNCS staff
• Participate in appropriate professional meetings and work groups to build coalitions; collaborate with other community groups on educational programming; and build and maintain professional relationships
• Assist in compiling information for grant reports and grant proposals, budget preparations and other activities that support the administration of programs assigned to this position.
• Work with the Regional Manager to seek funding to expand assigned programming within target audience and within specific communities, as identified as a priority by organization
• At least 10% (4 hours per week for full time schedule), will be dedicated to professional development, specifically related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
