Title: Literacy Specialist

Hours: 20 hours per week for 36 weeks

Pay/Salary: $30.00 per hour

Qualifications: Must be certified in Elementary/Early Childhood with a Master's degree or Reading endorsement.

Job Description:

•Work with school testing coordinator and MTSS coordinator to plan and coordinate Reading Fluency and Dyslexia screeners for Kindergarten through 3rd grade students.
•Work with EIP teachers and MTSS coordinator to develop or add Reading Intervention to existing MTSS plans.
•Organize and analyze Reading data with EIP teachers and MTSS coordinators.
•Coordinate parent meeting with classroom teachers for students identified as needing reading Intervention plans.
•Assist in making up assessments for students who were not present when the grade level or classroom tested for Reading Fluency, Dyslexia, or Star Reading assessments.
•Assist classroom teachers, MTSS personnel, and EIP teachers with progress monitoring and data collection for identified students.
•Collaborate with teachers on effective Reading instruction strategies through the core Reading Curriculum-Reading Wonders.
•Coaching, modeling, and observing Reading instruction and providing effective feedback to improve instruction to enhance and support the development of effective teaching practices.
•Coordinate Professional Learning opportunities for staff on the Science of Reading.
