Tool Maker

The Role:

• Thorough understanding of molds: components, structure, design and operation
• Ability to disassemble, clean and maintain all components, and reassemble without mistake
• Ability to make repairs such as: scratch repair, sandblasting, welding, fitting, polishing, and venting of the mold
• Ability to make repairs to hydraulic circuits: rebuild cylinders, hoses and fittings
• Ability to make electrical repairs to hot runners, limit switches, and core circuits
• Advanced knowledge of spotting and fitting
• Understanding to determine if weld repair is required
• Ability to properly use required hand tools in a safe manner
• Plumbing repairs to water circuits: hoses and fittings
• Understanding of spare parts availability
• Ability to troubleshoot molds in production to determine repair needs
• Document control: Yearly audit compliance, Shipping/Receiving molds

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Crane Operation
• Safe Rigging Practices
• Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic - Advanced troubleshooting
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. above head
• Ability to work with little or no Supervision
• Above average attention to detail
• Strong Written and Verbal Communication
• Welding, fitting and polishing
• Lathe and Milling
• Ability to read and understand blueprints

Other Requirements:

• Knowledgeable of Injection Molding processes
• Previous experience in Injection Molding
