Engineering & Inspection Services is Hiring an API Inspector Near Newcastle, WY

We are currently seeking skilled API 510/570 Inspectors to perform external inspections to API 751, API 510, and API 570

Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual inspections on client assets following American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) guidelines.
  • Produce technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition for client review.
  • Provide clients with expert recommendations for the repair, re-rating, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, ensuring safe operation within specified parameters.
  • Offer technical input on inspection, welding, and metallurgical issues.
  • Guide clients on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
  • Inspector will also field verify locations for (PAUT) and (RT).
  • All RT locations will be recorded on isometric drawings for 100% traceability.
  • Inspector will deliver the mandatory daily reporting and Inspection Work Requests (IWR) on 100% of non-compliant items, verify insulation replacement.
  • Adhere to client safe work practices, actively participating in site safety initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current active API 510 & 570 certifications.
  • Additional API Certifications or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credentials are a plus.
  • In-depth working knowledge of inspection and repair of pressure vessels, piping, and/or tanks (dependent on the API certified position applied for).
  • Experience working in direct support of client inspection, engineers, and/or maintenance personnel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs with the equipment when needed.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs of equipment.
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license with no moving violations that would prevent candidate from driving company vehicle.
  • Must adhere to client site safety requirements.
  • TWIC card will be needed to go into client sites. Candidates will need to pass background check to secure TWIC.
