The Position: Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis Campus is seeking a Director of Upward Bound Program as our newest TRIO program, at Ivy Tech Indy. The Upward Bound Program will focus on Ben David 9th grade center and Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. The new director is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and supervising the UB curriculum, summer academy, and other facets of the UB grant. The director will report to the Executive Director K14. This is a five (5) year grant program eligible for renewal. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Facilitates the development and implementation of all aspects of the UB grant, such as Summer Academy. Generates long and short-range strategies to effectively serve the needs of high school students. Creates student files for case management and develop IAPs in conjunction with students, parents, and high school personnel. Oversee the UB budget including annual budget development, authorize expenditures, reporting, and procurement oversight. (may include the writing of future grant applications) Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, training, and evaluation of UB staff. Foster internal and external relationships with faculty, staff, administrator, and students with the college, affiliated high schools, and community partners. Maintain program data and track program goals and objectives. Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (education, leadership, math, science, business) and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent (Master's and two years of experience). Successful candidates should demonstrate: Ability to work effectively on a team. Ability to foster relationships with all stakeholders. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical or problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and people skills. Proficient computer skills.
