AgWest Farm Credit is Hiring an Accounting Analyst Near Rocklin, CA

We are in search of an Accounting Analyst I or Accounting Analyst II to join our Controllers Department in Rocklin, California. This full-time position reports to the VP, Assistant Controller and is responsible for preparing and ensuring high quality reporting of the organization's financial information.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and one-time home office stipend after initial training period.

Compensation Information

The base salary range for this position is:

Level I: $66,000 - $99,000; bonus at target is 8% of salary.

Level II: $72,000 - $109,000; bonus at target is 10% of salary.

Job Requirements
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial and regulatory reporting by monitoring general ledger activity and managing and tracking information needed for financial records, budgets or projections.
  • Process and analyze general ledge activities, prepare journal entries and reconciliations for areas including, but not limited to, prepaid expenses, leases, investments, accruals, and notes payable.
  • Develop, enhance, or manage various financial and internal controls to fulfill reporting requirements to interested parties.
  • Assist in providing technical guidance and research related to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory guidance; collaborate with other departments within the organization, and external auditors to ensure proper accounting and reporting methods are followed.
  • Assist in the coordination of required information for review parties such as internal audit, FCA, external auditors, Board of Directors, and management.
  • Provide input on existing system functionality and design. Serve as a representative on designated work groups, to assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new accounting or other systems, software upgrades, and automation projects that affect area of responsibility.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports in addition to other regulatory reporting needs.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements in area of responsibility.
  • Assist in the coordination of the organizations' annual external audit by facilitating auditor requests, monitoring outstanding tasks, and participating in recurring status meetings.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Generally, requires one to five years' related experience in a corporate accounting environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial statement preparation
  • Experience in working with general ledger or ERP systems
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge

  • CPA licensure or candidacy
