Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho is Hiring a Development & Community Outreach Manager Near Idaho Falls, ID

Title: Development & Community Outreach Manager

Reports to: Development Director

Overview: The position is a full time, exempt, salaried position based out of the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Idaho Falls, ID. The position is responsible for representing RMHC of Idaho in the community, coordinating Eastern Idaho fundraising, building relationships, and identifying opportunities with community partners. This role is the lead for fundraising events and building partnerships, donor development, and community outreach in Eastern Idaho. Additionally supports recruitment of Ronald McDonald Family Room volunteers and serves as backup for operations as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Development & Community Relations:

  • Work with the Development Director and appropriate committees to establish annual financial goals and strategies as part of Development Plan.
  • Act as lead staff in Eastern Idaho to create stewardship, prospects, develop new relationships and secure funding with individual, corporate and organizational donors per Development Plan.
  • Assist with donor acquisition, solicitation of donors and prospects.
  • Identify and secure opportunities to engage and present to community members, corporations, and community organizations to increase awareness about RMHC of Idaho’s mission.
  • Represents RMHC Idaho at community events and serve as the spokesperson in Eastern Idaho.
  • Provide staff support as a member for the Eastern Idaho Champions Committee.

Special Events:

  • Work with the Development Director to establish annual financial goals and strategies for Eastern Idaho special events.
  • Serve as the primary event lead for Eastern Idaho signature community events; develops sponsorships and strategies and event evaluation as part of the overall Development Plan.
  • Work with committee members, Family Room Manager to schedule volunteers and volunteer roles for events.
  • Serve as liaison to Communications Manager for special event marketing, media, and promotions.
  • Lead planning and implementation of technical and logistical event planning.
  • Work with Development team to streamline database information, website development, and event forms and registration creation for Eastern Idaho events.

Outreach Administrative Operations:

  • Responsible for supporting the recruitment and stewardship of the Family Room volunteers in coordination with Family Room Manager.
  • Be familiar and support the day-to-day operations and processes of the Ronald McDonald Family Room, assisting Family Room Specialists as needed.
  • Provide a supportive role to families, promoting a warm and friendly environment.
  • Work in collaboration with Development Associate to develop and maintain record keeping, tracking and acknowledgement of donors in Eastern Idaho, and for business processes related to deposits of revenue and expenses for Eastern Idaho.
  • Able and willing to work some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Passion for the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 3-5 years’ related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous successful fundraising, event experience, and donor prospecting.
  • Previous successful community relations/marketing and/or engagement.
  • Previous successful experience working with volunteers.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of fundraising databases.
  • Ability to multi-task work functions and respond to changing priorities.
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Skills in interpersonal actions, flexibility, and the ability to exercise authority and sound decision making.
  • Experience in public speaking and demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates a warm, supportive, and cheerful behavior.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Must maintain high confidentiality and understand working with private and sensitive data.
  • Must be organized, able to function as a team member, accept direction and provide leadership, be confidential and conscientious, and highly sensitive to and supportive of the needs of RMHC mission and guest families.

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
