The Chemico Group is Hiring a Site Technician Near Bowling Green, KY

Position Summary

The Site Technician is responsible for providing technical support at the customer sites by conducting performance evaluations of materials and mechanical processes including testing, analytical evaluation, problem solving, product recommendations, and process improvement.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Support on-site training requirements
  • Develop chemical procedures and operational parameters
  • Manage all chemical systems within documented operational parameters
  • Trouble shoot all chemical related issues
  • Communication to Program Manager on site requirements
  • Coordinate supplier service activities
  • Coordinate on and off-site training activities
  • Identify and communicate tiered supplier performance issues
  • Ensure effective chemical application
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements
  • Work with appropriate site personnel to maintain chemical related equipment
  • Research and act on Requests for Service
  • Participate on problem solving team
  • Manage chemical systems
    • Maintain chemical metering equipment to ensure proper dosing of chemicals.
    • Perform required tests on the phosphate system and make necessary changes in treatment depending on results
    • Perform regular inspection of the equipment and ensure proper operation.
    • Perform housekeeping activities in and around the phosphate system.
    • Notify engineer of any abnormalities, system problems or out of spec test results.
    • Keep accurate records of all testing.

  • Successfully manages and prioritizes multiple projects within fluctuating operational demands.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Accepts challenges, identifies needs and is willing to work on new projects.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking in large industrial environment.
  • Ability to maintain high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or technical discipline and/or equivalent work experience in chemical/industrial environment preferred.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience in industrial manufacturing or technical environment preferred.
  • Computer proficient with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and the internet required.
  • Familiarity with software applications.

Work Environment:

Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role requires presence on the manufacturing floor and a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Ability to work in team fostered environment. Ability to work in multi-tasked environment. Strong personality and focus in fast-paced and demanding environments. Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.

Travel:

Overnight travel may be required – less than 5%
