Responsibilities include:
· Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
· Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials and collect samples of them for analysis.
· Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs.
· Provide Environmental, Health and Safety leadership
· Develops, reviews, implements, and maintains required Environment and Health and Safety policies and procedures by managing them to meet requirements
· Possess knowledge of laws, government regulations and practices related to OSHA
· Subject Matter Expert for Safety Program – Prevention Focused
· Coordinate all Safety Training, Communications, and Metrics
· Fosters new ideas to improve the existing Safety Program
· Monitor safety action items, assign responsible party to take corrective action and maintain records for follow up.
· Coordinate the investigation of all incidents, root cause analysis and action items
· Identifies health and safety concerns by surveying operations, occupational conditions, investigating violations and recommending prevention programs
· Audits, tracks and enforces all Safety Training and workplace practices
· Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations

This position interacts with shop floor employees, engineers and supervisors.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Able to read, interpret and prepare documents, instructions and procedure manuals
· Able to write routine reports and correspondence
· Able to clearly present ideas, arguments, both written and oral relative to formulating internal policy and procedures
· Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Understand, promote, train and ensure compliance of the QMS within the managed department.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Safety specific Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Safety and/or Environmental Certifications preferred
