Overview:

The IT Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the technology of the organization. This individual is responsible for ensuring that all hardware, software, and networking systems operate smoothly to support the organization's objectives. The IT Specialist provides technical support to end-users, troubleshoots issues, and implements solutions to optimize IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

• Provide technical assistance and support to end-users regarding computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Troubleshoot problems reported by users and resolve them in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, peripherals, and network equipment.

System Administration:

• Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement security measures to safeguard data and systems from unauthorized access or breaches.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights according to organizational policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure network availability and reliability.
• Implement network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, to protect against cyber threats.

Software and Application Support:

• Install, configure, and update software applications used within the organization.
• Provide training and support to users on software applications and tools.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate, recommend, and implement new software solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Generate reports on IT performance, incidents, and trends for management review.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IT operations and data security.

Work Environment:

• Office and warehouse environment.
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the warehouse can be loud at times.

Physical Demands:

• Required walking and standing at times.
• Ability to lift from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.

Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

• This position will require traveling to a sister company (MainSource, 15 minutes from the Office) and occasional conventions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, 2 years of work experience in IT, or Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are desirable.
• Must have certifications or be willing to acquire certification.
• Understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
• Proficiency in operating systems (Windows.)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users and stakeholders.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
