SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION: 

This role requires working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design high quality, high speed, low noise analogue and RF printed circuit boards under engineering, mechanical, and company requirements and processes. This role will also be to develop schematics and then produce PCB layouts and manufacturing/assembly data packages for a variety of products. The role will require interaction with an in-house assembly team with a view to delivering boards with a high level of quality and manufacturability promptly.

Role Dimensions

Working as part of a team, under the direction of the PCB Lead Design Engineer. Establish effective working relationships with various departments such as sales and marketing, operations, production, and accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Design single-sided, double-sided and multi-layered PCBs using industry-standard techniques, ensuring consideration for DFM/DFT has been made. 
• Responsible for completing PCB designs in accordance with agreed project time, cost, quality, and performance requirements. 
• Working with Electronic/ RF Engineers to develop Schematics. CAD library administration including symbol, footprint generation, and database administration. 
• Creation and maintenance of 3D models and assemblies from 2D layouts. Liaising closely with other engineers to create robust designs. 
• Liaising with the manufacturing team for transfer of documentation. 
• Contributing to continual process improvement within the PCB layout function.
• Ability to follow and comply with the company’s internal safety policies as well as external regulatory agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

• Degree or equivalent within an Engineering/Electronics-based subject
• Extensive knowledge in using Altium schematic capture and layout creation tools
• Knowledgeable in CAD packages (Altium, Cadence Allegro)
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing process and manipulation of Gerber files
• Knowledge of IPC Standards
• Thorough understanding of electronic principles
• Experience in RF circuit design and transmission line techniques for PCBs
• High speed layout techniques for differential pair and serial communications
• Experience of mains potential voltages and currents of up to 30A for PCB design
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and editing BOMs.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and an ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work prioritize workload, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Flexible and adaptable to fast-paced changing environments
• Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, self-motivation, and the ability to plan and organize own tasks.

California Salary Range: 95,000 - 125,00 annually and Benefit Perks
