The Role: The Director, Field Medical Excellence and Training will serve as a key member of the Medical Affairs leadership team, playing an important role in driving the success of the field team to ensure the highest standards of scientific engagement with healthcare professionals. This individual will oversee field medical onboarding and training initiatives. They will develop resources to enhance departmental effectiveness and drive excellence within the field medical team. Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Syndax Medical Affairs Leadership and other stakeholders, develop and implement Field Medical standards and processes for onboarding, training, and competency assessment.
Design and oversee a forum for regularly sharing best practices/learnings across the Field Medical Team.
Assist with design, implementation and execution of department-wide processes and SOP development.
Optimize field medical adoption of data analytics and digital tools to enhance data-driven field medical external engagement planning and execution.
Oversee field medical affairs KOL/HCP engagement monitoring, ensuring documentation is completed on time and appropriately maintained.
Collaborate with Medical Affairs Leadership Team and cross-functional partners to ensure consistent insight topics of interest are documented.
Support Veeva system implementation and enhancements.
Assist with design and maintenance of Field Medical Affairs activities dashboards and reports.
Conduct routine external benchmarking of Field Medical Affairs performance and leverage to seek areas for improvement and enhancement.
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
Advanced degree in life/health sciences required, preferably M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., PhD, MSN, NP or PA.
At least 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
Proficiency and experience with technology, analytics, and ability to communicate data effectively.
Proven record of strategic and analytical thinking, innovation, project leadership, and change implementation.
Experience with design and implementation of skills and competencies training programs.
Experience managing vendors to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget.
Demonstrated understanding of compliance, ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines impacting the pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs, and Field Medical.
Location: Syndax has offices in Waltham, MA and New York City and has a dispersed workforce across the United States.
