General Summary
The customer service representative is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for all customers. Assists customers with account and billing requests including new service, additional service, and repair. Initiates automated service orders required to efficiently process customer service requests. Performs collection functions on delinquent accounts. Responds to incoming customer requests by phone on demand in accordance with company performance standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Promotes and sells services to new and existing customers.
· Provides customer service by assisting customers with billing inquiries, new service requests, service plan changes and disconnects, and service questions and concerns.
· Completes customer service requests utilizing appropriate resources.
· Handles disconnects and reconnects of services of customers with late payments.
· Performs collection functions on delinquent accounts.
· Processes customer payments.
· Works collaboratively with colleagues and fosters a spirit of cooperation in the workplace.
· Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on BMN and contributes to harmonious relations with members and the public.
· Respectfully takes direction from management.
· Refers any situations outside their scope of service to Manager for direction.
· Contributes to harmonious relations with co-workers, members, and the public.
· Other duties as required or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by email, ability to compose documents, entering database information, creating presentations, downloading forms, and preserving/backup important data.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
· 1 year of customer service
Physical Requirements:
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
· The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
