Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cognos Developer with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in utilizing Cognos for developing robust reporting and analytics solutions. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex reporting systems, leveraging your extensive expertise in Cognos BI tools. Your deep understanding of Oracle PL/SQL and proficiency in Linux/UNIX environments will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration and optimization of reporting solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the analysis of business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient reporting solutions using Cognos
• Architect and design data models, metadata layers, and reporting frameworks to support enterprise-wide reporting needs
• Develop, test, and deploy advanced reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions, adhering to best practices and industry standards
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and support in Cognos development methodologies and tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Cognos solutions with existing systems and data sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and data models to enhance reporting performance and reliability
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the BI and analytics space, continuously evaluating and recommending improvements to existing reporting processes and systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in developing reports and analytics solutions using IBM Cognos BI tools
• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL for data manipulation and extraction, with a strong understanding of database concepts and architecture
• Proficiency in working with Linux/UNIX environments, including shell scripting and command-line operations
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex reporting projects from inception to delivery, with a focus on quality and scalability
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in IBM Cognos or related technologies
• Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools
