OUR MISSION
Through academic rigor, character development, and a structured learning environment, Soleil Academy Charter School ensures that every transitional kindergarten through 5th-grade scholar has the foundation necessary for college success and a future bright with opportunity.
THE POSITION
Campus Monitors will be responsible for monitoring the school campus, ensuring the safety and security of students, and supporting school staff in creating a positive learning environment.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor the school campus and supervise students during recess, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods to ensure safety and order.
Enforce school rules and policies to ensure that all students behave appropriately and respectfully towards each other and school staff.
Identify and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or suspicious activities to school administration promptly.
Assist in managing school arrival and dismissal procedures, including monitoring students getting on and off school buses.
Support teachers and staff in ensuring a positive learning environment by modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging students to do the same.
Provide guidance and support to students as needed, including conflict resolution and emotional support.
Maintain accurate records of any incidents or disciplinary actions and report them to the appropriate school officials.
Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay up-to-date on school policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assist with set-up and preparation of equipment, activities, and events, as time permits
Prepare for and participate in at minimum two (2) recruitment events and efforts in other school events that do not exceed more than three (3) hours per event
Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations
Maintain high expectations for student behavior
Model and teach core values of Soleil Academy
Communicate with teachers and leadership regarding student behaviors
Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Contribute to the School Community
Seek opportunities, both individually and through school-based initiatives, to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families and scholars.
Actively engage in School and externally provided professional development.
Prepare for and attend up to five (5) evening scholar, parent or other school events that are at most three (3) hours per event, including Report Card Nights, Open House, Scholar Exhibitions, etc.
Serve actively on at least one (1) School-established action committee during the school year.
Attend all faculty and professional development meetings.
Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with parents.
Uphold Soleil Educational Philosophy and Standards of Excellence
Support Soleil’s aspiration to prepare all scholars to have the foundation necessary for college success.
Support with classroom discipline aligned to the school-wide behavior management policy and keep documentation of all interventions taken to manage scholar behavior.
Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Soleil Employee Handbook.
Ensure timely and high-quality submission of school requirements such as intellectual preparation, unit plans, and re-teaching plans.
Exhibit a continuous improvement mindset while striving to exemplify Soleil’s commitment to the school community.
Other duties as assigned by school administrators
THE QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Strong commitment to Soleil Academy’s mission and vision
High school diploma or equivalent; AA or higher preferred
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
TB Clearance
Highly Preferred:
Two years experience working in a school setting
COVID-19 vaccination (Up to date)

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: Soleil provides competitive salaries, which are reviewed every three years. Based on relevant prior work experience, our hourly range for this role is $17.00 - $24.99. Please click HERE for more information on our salary schedule.

Retirement: School staff, depending on role, may participate in the school-provided 403b retirement plan.
