Job Location- Kennesaw, GA

Client has an excellent opportunity for a Marine Senior Project Manager to join their Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. This position will directly support the Marine Project Management Office (PMO) initiatives. Responsibilities will include preparation of project proposals, defining project requirements, and leading the planning, development, and execution of multiple cross-functional projects. Will also be responsible for creating best practices for the PMO group, including coaching current Project Managers. Will be required to present at the Executive level and must be comfortable influencing at various organizational levels.

What you'll be doing:

  • Subject Matter Expert on Project Management. Including creating new processes and tools.
  • Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring tactical feasibility. Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Establish business metrics to value quantitative and qualitative measures for each project within PMO.
  • Build and develop the cross-functional project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Establishing effective communications with the project team, project stakeholders, and the business unit to maximize project success
  • Performs project implementation and secure its execution, addresses challenges, and perform risk mitigation proactively
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information
  • Conducting post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Perform other duties as required

Decision Making Responsibility:

  • Works with limited oversight from the Project Management Office (PMO)

What you'll need to be successful:

  • BA / BS degree in Business, Administration or a related field is required. Masters Preferred
  • 7-10 years of proven project lead experience with cross functional teams.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar experience is required.
  • Predictive and Agile Project Management experience is required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% Domestically.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage diversity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to details and technicalities
  • Drive for results and priority setting.
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills.
  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skill
